So a few years ago I found my initials carved into the bench at the end of the dock. They were surrounded by a heart and someone else's initials. Pretty exciting. For some reason I was sure that it was about me but now I can't remember why. Maybe it was actually my name, not just initials. I didn't bother to check on this trip. We didn't even walk out on the dock, just stood under it. The exciting part of the day was finding all of the clear little jelly fish. My brothers and cousins and I used to have fights with these things. We'd dig a little pit and smoosh all the dead jelly fish up into mush. Then launch them at each other. Pretty fun. My kids weren't interested in that activity. They tried to sneak some home though.

better hair day
demolition
Just a few photos to show what kind of a mess I'm living in. Like my floor? The cabinet is now gone. It had a 35 year old oven in it. It's now in the garden shed which the girls have claimed as their clubhouse. It's a nice spot for them. Now there's nothing garden related in there. Dollhouses and stuffed animals. No oven either. It's going to the dump. Oh, you can see the fresh paint in the photo behind Reed. it's not really a pale yellow like it seems. It's deeper and warmer.

random house pics
This will be really random since I can't remember which order to upload. Is last first? Been a while. There are some before and after and in between photos. Like the "nipple" panels on the outside of the front door? Was going to paint them white but it would take hours. but I love how they turned out inside. The vaulted cedar ceilings are all now a creamy white. The cedar walls are a pale butterscotch, except in master bedroom where they're yellow. Haven't taken pictures of that yet. The windows look so good with white trim. I hated that dark brown. the view looks so much nicer with the white. The whole house is lighter and brighter. I love it.

I don't know if anyone is still following this blog...it's a little short on posts lately. Really, I'll update soon. Our upload speed here is much slower than on Comcast. And summer isn't shaping up quite how I'd envisioned. Basement flooded 3 weeks ago by the orchard, and it's still unusable. Kitchen is in chaos but will soon be completely new. Painting is finished, so one project out of the way. many more to come. But we're all well, happy and still suffering from benign neglect.
